Gutierrez, Isaac

Isaac A. Gutierrez is an experienced civil litigator who represents businesses, insureds, and other clients in complex and high-exposure disputes throughout Texas. His practice includes the defense of catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death claims, commercial motor vehicle and trucking accidents, premises liability matters, construction-related claims, and other significant tort litigation, as well as commercial disputes involving breach of contract, the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, indemnity, and contractual liability. Isaac is also proficient in both Spanish and French.

Before joining Ray Peña McChristian, Isaac served as a prosecutor with the El Paso County District Attorney’s Office, where he was assigned to the narcotics unit and prosecuted serious felony offenses ranging from enhanced drug offenses to capital murder, sexual assault of a child, strangulation, and aggravated assault. During his five years with the District Attorney’s Office, Isaac tried more than 65 cases and handled more than 60 additional contested matters. That background has made him comfortable and effective in the litigation setting, particularly in connecting with jurors.

While attending law school, Isaac completed a judicial internship with the Honorable Philip R. Martinez of the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas. He also interned with the Jacksonville Human Rights Commission.

Drawing on his extensive courtroom experience, Isaac brings a practical, disciplined, and trial-tested approach to every matter, with a focus on developing the strongest defense, advancing his clients’ objectives, and positioning each case for the most favorable resolution.
