Stafford, Gordon


After graduating from Baylor School of Law in 1985 Mr. Stafford joined a large insurance defense firm in his hometown of San Antonio. From 1986 through 2012 he defended clients and obtained jury verdicts in Central and South Texas in matters as wide-ranging as commercial personal injury claims, trucking accidents, wrongful death claims, commercial and residential construction disputes and workers’ compensation claims.

In 2012 he moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, where he obtained his law license. He worked for McGuire Woods defending mortgage lenders and servicers. He returned to San Antonio in 2016 and worked as staff counsel for Nationwide Insurance Company defending both Nationwide and its insureds focusing on large commercial litigation cases. He returned to private practice in 2019 where his practice has remained the same. In 2025 he joined Ray Pena McChristian in their San Antonio office as a shareholder. He is an AV-rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell and is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation.
